Alabaster lamp shade. Alabaster is a soft stone and therefore fairly easy to work. In ancient times it was used for all kinds of household items and figurines. Alabaster comes in different colours. In this case, the lampshade is made of light brown alabaster. As the stone gets older, its colour evolves to a darker tone. Alabaster can also have grooves, the grooves appear darker and are vulnerable. Alabaster spreads a warm soft light when light shines through it, very beautiful! These types of lamp shades are often used on antique pendant lamps with raised arms, the shade then rests on the fixture under the socket.
Natural stone lampshade shows normal traces of use.
