Architect, designer and artist Peter Behrens (1868-1940) was one of the most influential German designers of the 20th century. He is known as the father of modern industrial design. He was also a founding member of the Munich Secession and co-founder of the Deutscher Werkbund (German Craftsmen's Association). They paved the way for the Bauhaus movement.
